Welcome to ArsLeague, a private community league provided by www.arsclan.net. This league was created for members of ArsClan to compete competitively without having to spend countless hours scrimming and practicing. The league is structured with individual signups. You are then part of the ArsLeague Draft, where predetermined Captains pick their players kickball style.

If you have any questions on the content covered in this article, please contact an ArsLeague Official.

2.10 Reserves

If you register after the deadline or we have enough registrations to fill the pre-determined number of teams for that season, you will be placed on a reserved list. This list will be public, but your placement on a team will be random. It will not matter if you are the first to sign up on the reserve list or last, if a team drops a player for any reason, you may be chosen to play on that team.

2.20 SteamID

Registration is based off of SteamID. You cannot sign up for ArsLeague if you share the same SteamID as someone else. Based on the design of this league, you may be required to play against any person at any given time; that means that everyone must have their own SteamID with which to play.

2.30 Signing up as a Captain

The registration form will ask you if you are interested in being put in the captain pool. This pool of players will be considered and chosen by the ArsLeague staff. If you are chosen to captain a team in a season of ArsLeague, you will be contacted via e-mail by a League Official. We will contact you at least 1 week prior to the draft date.

2.40 The Draft

Each season will have a predetermined number of teams and players. Once the number of registrations meets the number of players needed to fill the teams, the draft will determine which player is on which team. Team captains (see 3.20) will be responsible for choosing their team in the draft.

Every participant of ArsLeague is held to the ArsClan rules. This section will explain what responsibilities are required for each role.

3.10 Player Conduct and Responsibilities

Each player of ArsLeague will be held responsible for their own actions. The actions of one player represent the actions of an entire team. ArsLeague is a fun competitive league; your conduct speaks volumes about the atmosphere of each game. It is required that every member show respect to other teams and players. We encourage friendly ribbing between teams and players, so long as it is done with good sportsmanship. Actions which fall outside of this will be reviewed by the ArsLeague staff.

It is required that every member is active throughout the season. If you are inactive for a period of over two weeks, your team captain has the right to cut you from the team and pull a new player from the reserve pool. Your participation with your team ensures that your captain has the players available to show up for matches and scrims. The decision to remove you from the team and league due to inactivity will be decided by your captain. If you are removed from ArsLeague due to inactivity, you will not be allowed to play in any future ArsLeague seasons without approval from an ArsLeague official.

We understand that real life circumstances prevent people from gaming as much as they would like. If you sign up for the league and something comes up, please contact an ArsLeague official immediately. We prefer that you let us know rather than go dark. This way we can get a reserve player in your spot without any disruption to the team on which you play. If you are unable to play in ArsLeague and contact an official to arrange a replacement, your admittance to future seasons of ArsLeague will be permitted.

3.20 Captain Conduct and Responsibilities

The captain role of ArsLeague will be granted to individuals who wish to be considered a captain for the season of ArsLeague. This role is vital for the success of ArsLeague. You represent a small team of captains that are held to a very high level of activity and conduct.

Each team is provided a private forum. This private forum should be used for all team communication. Team captains are required to make sure they can field a full team for match night. ArsLeague recommends that captains try to schedule as many practices and scrims as possible. Communication with your team is vital, as a team with an active captain will do much better than a team without one. Team forum access is also managed by the team captain. You are required to get your team together on the ArsClan forums and get them signed up on your forum. Please contact and ArsLeague official if you need help with this.

When you register, you will be notified if you have been chosen to be a team captain no later than 1 week prior to the Draft. As a captain, you are responsible for choosing your team members. The draft is your chance to get the players you want; do your research.

If you as a captain go inactive for a period longer than 2 weeks without any contact with your team or an ArsLeague official, you will be dropped from ArsLeague. You will be prohibited from playing in any future ArsLeague seasons without the approval of an ArsLeague official.

We understand that real life circumstances prevent people from gaming as much as they would like. If something comes up and you cannot fill your captain role, please contact an ArsLeauge official immediately. We prefer that you let us know rather than go dark. This way we can arrange for a replacement with minimal disruption to your team. If you are unable to play in ArsLeague and contact an official to arrange a replacement, your admittance to future seasons of ArsLeague will be permitted.

Team captains should also read through 4.00 Match Scheduling, Guidelines and Requirements for additional roles and responsibilities throughout the ArsLeague Season.

4.10 Match Scheduling

ArsLeague Matches are set to be played every Tuesday and Thursday at 8:30pm CST of each week. Captains are required to check the Schedule page every week to determine when their team will be playing, and ensure that they are able to bring 7 players to the match.

If a team cannot make it on the scheduled match night, the captain of that team is responsible for facilitating the reschedule. Once a new date and time has been set by the captains, the team captain who initiated the reschedule must contact an ArsLeague official to edit the match on the site.

4.20 Match Play

Each team must field 7 players. If one team is not able to field 7 players, captains may agree to play the match with the other team down one person, or to play the match at a lower versus number. For example, if Team A shows up with 7 players and Team B shows up with 6, team captains have the option to either play 7v6 or 6v6. Matches where teams show up with more than one person missing will either result in a forfeit loss for the team with missing players (see 4.40) or both teams may decide to still play, however, if teams decide to play with more than one person down on either team, the ArsLeague official assigned to that match must be contacted for approval.

Teams may not have individuals spectating in the match server during match play. Players who wish to watch must connect to the HLTV server.

Captains must execute the ArsLeague server commands based on the map being played. Captains are required to familiarize themselves with these commands by reviewing the Match Command Thread in their private team forum.

An ArsLeague official will be available for questions via Ventrilo server or Steam IM or in-game. Please see the Staff page on the ArsLeague site to familiarize yourself with the ArsLeague officials. Each match will have an assigned ArsLeague official to them; see the main page of ArsLeague for information on the next match which will have the assigned official listed.

External communication applications (Ventrilo, TeamSpeak, Mohawk) are permitted. ArsLeague provides a 100 slot Ventrilo server for all players to use during the ArsLeague season. See the servers page on the ArsLeague website for details.

4.21 Class Limits

A blanket class limit of two will be enforced at all times.

4.22 Weapon Restrictions

-Weapon Bans:
   -Scout's Sandman
   -Soldier's Gunboats
-Weapon Restrictions:
-Demo's Targe is limited to one one per team.
-Medic's Kritzkreig is limited to one per team.

League staff hold the right to change weapon restrictions at any time.

4.23 Player Communication

Once a match has commenced, global chat ("say" command) should be limited to necessary captain/admin communication as much as possible. Other communication is acceptable as long as it is limited and sportsmanlike. Repeated use of global chat, through binds or any other methods, is not permitted and may result in player ejection, overturned round, or match forfeiture as determined by league admins.

4.30 Match Reporting

At the conclusion of each match, the winning team captain may post on the ArsLeague Public forum on the ArsClan forum boards with the match results. Reporting the match on the forums is not required, but a good tool to use so each team can discuss the outcome of the game.

Screenshots are required from each half played (up to three total). Please ensure that screenshots are obtained during match time. Screenshots should be uploaded using the ArsLeague Screenshot Uploader. The uploader can be found under the Schedule Page. League officials ask that captains do this immediately following the match. Screenshots are required to be uploaded within two hours from the end of the match played. If the captains do not have screenshots, please consult your team to see if anyone else obtained screenshots. If they are still unable to obtain screenshots, please speak with your match official.

4.40 Match Forfeits

As a general rule, each captain has 15 minutes past the scheduled match time to get their team together. If a captain is not able to get 7 people ready 15 minutes after the scheduled match time, the opposing team captain has the right to call a forfeit match. However, each captain may agree to override this rule and wait, decide to play the match with uneven teams or play the match with lower versus numbers. See 4.20 Match Play for further information on playing a match with few than 7 people for one team.

4.50 Match Halftime

In between each half of the match, a 10 minute break is given to each team as a rest period. After this time, team captains must go in the ready status. This rule will be enforced as a sportsmanship rule. Each team captain should be aware of the time and keep the flow of the match going by enforcing the 10 minute rule for their players and the other team.

4.60 Match Disputes

If a team captain would like to dispute the outcome of a match, they are to contact the ArsLeague official assigned to that match. They will work with that official to resolve any issues with that match and the ArsLeague official will handle any public communication if it is necessary. Any disputes on match results in a public format will result in a 1 week suspension from ArsLeague to the person who filed the dispute. If the ArsLeague official assigned to the match is not available, please see the staff page on the ArsLeague site and contact an official right away.

Keeping match disputes private, within the ArsLeague staff and the players involved will adovacate quick resolution to the situation.

5.10 Map Rules and Scoring

All matches will be played with weapon criticals turned off.

5.11 Push Style Maps

Maps:
    cp_well | cp_granary | cp_badlands | cp_freight | cp_fastlane | cp_follower
Regular Play:
Two 20 minute halves; Up to 7 points per half.
Overtime:
    20 Minute Sudden Death
First team to score one point wins
5.12 Stopwatch Style Maps

Maps:
    cp_dustbowl | pl_goldrush | pl_badwater | cp_gravelpit | cp_ramrod | cp_steel
Regular Play:
The game will be played ABBA style. Regular play will consist of two full rounds. The first round will have Team A attack first, and defend second. The second round will have Team A defend first and attack Second. (Attack-Defend-Defend-Attack) Team captains will be responsible for deciding who attacks first. If captains cannot decide which team attacks first, then one player from each team will duel melee style using the scout class. No health pickups are allowed. The winner of the duel chooses if their team will attack or defend.

A single point is awarded to the team who achieves a win based on the stopwatch rules. Successfully defending a point does not warrant an additional point.

If both teams successfully defend a point in one round of play, the following should be used to determine awarded points:

-If both teams defend the first point of the map successfully, neither team is awarded a point for that round (stalemate).

-If both teams defend a capture point beyond the first, the team to capture the previous point faster is awarded the point (the in game stopwatch should be clear on this).
Overtime:
If the score is tied after two full rounds of play, a final round is played with the same rules as regular play. Team A would be first to attack in Overtime.
5.13 CTF Style Maps

Maps:
    ctf_mach4 | ctf_2fort | ctf_turbine | ctf_chaos
Regular Play:
Two 20 Minute Halves; the team with the highest score wins.
Overtime:
    20 Minute Sudden Death
First team to capture the intelligence wins
5.14 Seedings and Rankings

In cases where a team records cannot determine the overall standings, the league will use a total rounds won versus a total rounds played percentage to dispute the tie.

In this example, your team has played 4 games. Take the number of games won and divide them by the total number of rounds played. This will give you the rounds won percentage for that game.

Game 1: 2-3 (2/5 = .40)
Game 2: 5-0 (5/5 = 1.0)
Game 3: 3-1 (3/1 = .75)
Game 4: 4-3 (4/3 = .57)

Now take the results of each week and add them up. You've scored 2.72 out of a possible 4.

2.72 / 4 = .68

That result will be the percentage of rounds won summed and divided by the total number of weeks played. This percentage is what is displayed on the standings page.

5.20 Server Information

5.21 Configuration

5.22 Assignments

Server assignments will be given when the season schedule (fixtures) are announced. The primary and secondary servers are listed in the Servers page on the ArsLeague website.

5.23 Crashes/Changes

If a server crashes in the middle of the game, alert the ArsLeague official assigned to that match. That official will be in charge of trying to bring the server back up. If the server cannot be brought back up for any reason, teams should use the secondary server provided by ArsLeague.

Changes to configuration, setup or commands will be communicated directly to the captains and via the ArsLeague site.

5.24 HLTV

Captains and ArsLeague Officials are responsible for ensuring that HLTV recordings are started. Captains should familiarize themselves with the HLTV recording commands for use in-game.

5.30 TF2 Game Rules Overview

5.31 Violations

Violations of any of the rules explained here will result in suspension from ArsLeague. Repeated violations will be considered by ArsLeague officials and the person involved may be permanently removed before the end of the season. ArsLeague asks that all participants be cognizant about their actions while in and out of the game.

5.32 Exploits

Knowingly exploiting a defect in a map, character or weapon design is strictly prohibited. Jumping in to areas that are not fully textured is an exploit. Using the pyro to set someone on fire through gates during match setup is an exploit. The severity of the exploit used in-game will be determined by the ArsLeague admin. All players should consider rule 4.60 when reporting an exploit.

5.33 Hacking

Hacking, or the act of giving a person advantage using 3rd party applications or game convar settings to change the visual elements of the game is strictly prohibited. Anything that changes textures of guns, character models, environment elements, distance affects, etc.. are prohibited. If a player is caught hacking or changing any graphic element of the game outside of the original installation will be banned from ArsClan and ArsLeague.

5.34 Substitutions

The use of player substitutions in-game is allowed. If a player leaves for any reason, the team has the right to sub in another player from their roster to fill the spot. Captains should be aware of their team size when subbing. At no time is it allowed for a team to have more than 7 players during match play. If a team is caught with more than 7 players on their team at any time during a match, that team will receive an automatic forfeit loss.
